Faith Communities Ambassador

Amy is the Faith Communities Ambassador for Waltham Forest. She is employed part time and usually works Tuesdays and Wednesdays.

Amy's job is to be the link between faith communities and public services and she is here to support faith groups to develop and maintain positive partnerships between faith groups and the council and other services. Working from the town hall alongside the councils "Equalities and Diversity" team, Amy is in a unique position to champion the views of the religious and faith groups to the relevant council structures.

She is also here to support faith groups in any community outreach projects they are involved in such as youth work or other initiatives that benefit the wider community and can offer advice, support and networking opportunities.

Amy co-ordinates a number of interfaith projects in the Borough including an Eco Preacher scheme which will commence in the spring (subject to funding).

Amy is developing training for the Council on "Faith Equalities" to ensure that front line staff are equipped with the knowledge and confidence to meet the needs of all faith communities and build positive partnerships with them to make Waltham Forest a better place.
